Three guys walk into a hotel and tell the clerk they want 1 room. The clerk tells them the rate is $30.00 per night.
They all agreed to pitch in $10.00 each and head to their room.
After the clerk looks at the registration card, she decides to give them a break and reduce the rate by $5.00.
She calls the bellman to the desk and tells him to give their money back. Knowing the rate was originally $30.00, be tries to figure out how to split the money evenly between the three men. On the way to the room he pockets $2.00 and decides to give them $1.00 each. So lets do some math here.
Now lets look at this a different way.

Now add in the $2.00 the bell man kept the total is now $29.00

That's a trick question that's been going around the internet for a couple of weeks now, the dollar didn't get lost, if I recall correctly.
Quick review:
3 * 9 = 27
- 2 = 25
Clerk has 25.
The Bellman has 2.
The 3 guys all have 1 dollar.
25 + 2 + 3 = 30
Something like that.
